Collated from national statistics in 2012, that relate to the activity levels of Australians of varying ages, this 2014 report clearly states that we are failing as a nation to move enough. The rise of wearable movement technology seems to be helping us more recently, and I think that knowing the hard facts that demonstrate the majority of us need to move more, is useful.

The thing I love about Pilates is that it can introduce sedentary people to movement in a non-threatening and safe way, and then Pilates can progress to an excellent way to strengthen bones and to create lean muscle tissue.
